College of Education

California has a large teacher shortage and an even larger shortage of diverse teachers in the education system. As one of the largest public teacher credential programs in California, accredited at both the state and national levels, the College of Education prepares more than 400 K-12 educators annually, powerfully positioning it to transform student academic achievement by revolutionizing teacher recruitment, training and pedagogy.

The College of Education’s tenets focus on just, equitable and inclusive education, technology integration and community engagement. By preparing educators who can address the challenges of today’s student learners through innovation, hands-on training and effective teaching strategies, the college aims to help improve California’s teaching and learning for all.
